Berghaus Christel is by the Dreiländereck, where Austria, Italy and Slovenia meet, three countries within a fifteen-minute drive. It’s a genuine four-season destination: skiing and cross-country skiing straight from the door in winter, walking, cycling and swimming in Carinthia’s lakes the rest of the year.

The ski lift starts 100 metres from the house. It runs year-round and takes you up to the Dreiländereck, where Austria, Italy and Slovenia meet. The ski area has 7 lifts and about 17 km of slopes between 680 and 1,600 metres, and a 10 km cross-country trail starts right next to the lift.
Restaurant Wallner in Arnoldstein is about a 20-minute walk from the house. The village centre is 2 km away and easy to reach year-round (the road is kept clear of snow in winter too), with supermarkets (Lidl, Billa), restaurants, cafés, a playground, a tennis court, a bowling alley and several walking routes.
Carinthia has more than a thousand lakes, and Faaker See is one of the best-known. The lake is about a 20-minute drive away, is the warmest lake in the region, with summer water temperatures up to 27°C. It covers 2.2 km² and has two inhabited islands. Nearby you'll also find the Ossiacher See and the larger Wörthersee, if you fancy exploring further.
Tarvisio in Italy and the Slovenian border are both about a 15-minute drive away. Tarvisio is home to the mountain village of Monte Lussari, with around 25 km of slopes and 60 km of cross-country trails; on the Slovenian side, the ski resort of Kranjska Gora is about 20 minutes further.

Winter
Cold, with plenty of snow and good skiing. January and February have notably many sunshine hours. Skiing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and the 8.4 km toboggan run at the Dreiländereck.
Spring
Temperatures rise quickly. Beautiful walks, with fresh green against still-white mountains.
Summer
Warm during the day, with the occasional cooling rain shower in the afternoon or at night. Swimming in Carinthia’s lakes (water temperatures up to 25–28°C), or heading into the mountains when it gets hot.
Autumn
Often still pleasant and sunny, with beautiful autumn colours. Good for walking and cycling.

The Dreiländereck is a unique location for an unforgettable holiday, with Faaker See and Ossiacher See close by. The area offers a huge range of possibilities, in both winter and summer (the ski lift runs in winter and summer).
Anyone who loves culture, nature and outdoor activities will have a wonderful holiday here. With a large back garden, a trampoline and a mountain stream to play in, it’s also a lovely holiday home for children.
Staying at our holiday home puts three cultures, the mountains and the lakes all close together. Berghaus Christel is very easy to reach by car: at Arnoldstein you leave the motorway, then it’s 3 kilometres along a local road to the house. Berghaus Christel sits at an altitude of 680 metres in the village of Seltschach. In winter, this road is kept clear of snow.
